On the leaky roof
Nothing makes me miserable than a leaky roof, I seldom thought of this when living with my parents. At first I was defeated, it was just “broken”, in reality nothing exist in a binary state, it’s not really broken.
I setup my small ladder, get up on it any push away the hatch to the attic and peek inside. I see a structure that I can’t comprehend how it still stands and hold the very odd shaped roof with heavy cascade of clay tiles.
Thankful for this roof for still holding on, keeping us cool. I see the cracks on some of the tiles, and the sunlight coming at the interlocking points.
It’s no longer “broken”, Still a pain in the rear end for sure.
We slide galvanised sheets of steel to contain the cracks. Then wait till the next downpour to see if it drips… It’s holding up for now, but my luck might change tomorrow.
I know this for certain, I will need a taller ladder and my hastily strung up floodlight on a long wire will have to stay.
It’s just the way it is.
