Running again
I bought a treadmill a month back. The thought was that if I can reduce the friction, I can just get out of bed anytime and do a 30 minute run, with my running clothes and shoes next to it.
It works, I followed the excellent Couch To 5K program by the NHS and the accompanying Android app(which you have to side-load if you’re outside the UK)
My plan was to run one day and walk the other. I’ve been running at very conservative speeds to get the hang of it. Currently on Week 6 and it’s getting to me. Nearly two years ago, I was starting to run 10k and then I fell of the habit.
I can get there gain, but have to be patient and kind with myself. Writing this as I was unable to run yesterday, I’ve been feeling lethargic and one my shoes broke, fixed it with some adhesive.
Just a temporary setback. Nothing more.
Next is to figure out my diet, the biggest culprit. I’ve been leaving this be and focusing on fostering the run habit, but I need to eat clean and eventually get into a calorie deficit.
Just keep on going.
